Betel and the NBC After- School Program (Paraguay)
Our largest grant is given to Betel, a Paraguayan non-profit social services provider who manages the Nancy Carpenter Cultural Center in Coronel Oviedo, Paraguay.
Services the NBC Children’s Fund grant provides:
- One-on-one tutoring to 200 students - Spanish, Math, Physics, and Chemistry
- School books, supplies, uniforms, and transporation
- 50 private school scholarships
- Computer lab - instruction and Internet access
- Music lessons
- Summer Camps
- Soccer School

English for All, ENSCI School (Colombia)
Our fastest growing project, English for All, is in Cartagena, Colombia in conjunction with the La Escuela Normal Superior de Cartagena de Indias (ENSCI), a public teachers´college. It is a solution to improve English instruction in public schools and satisfy the growing demand for an English speaking workforce. We are forming strong alliances with public and private institutions to support the improvement and expansion of English language programs, job creation, and economic development in low- income communities. Currently, the program consists of funding English language scholarships at the prestigious language institute, Centro Colombo Americano and extensive training in how to teach English in K- 5 grade classrooms. Our student- teachers receive personalized instruction from expert American teachers from the international bi-lingual school, Jorge Washington and the San Buenaventura University.
Bertha Gedeón de Báladi Library (Colombia)
We have helped start a library at the school, Bertha Gedeón de Báladi, in the low- income neighborhood of Vista Hermosa in Cartagena, Colombia. We donated 250 books and are hoping to provide more with the help of your donations.
Neighborhood House Charter School (Boston, MA, USA)

We provided 8 scholarships for students at the Neighborhood House Charter School (NHCS) in Boston, Massachusetts, so they could attend the Summer Academic Institute. NHCS offers a Summer Academic Institute for students in grades K1-7. Taught by NHCS teachers, students attend 90-minute classes in both Literacy and Math, four days a week for five weeks. This intensive program allows direct instruction for students who need it most and helps many get ready for the upcoming academic year. On average, 60 students attend the Summer Academic Institute.
